Conveyor Orders Up in April

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its April 2011 Booked Orders Index was 219, up 27 points or 14% from March 2011’s Index of 192, and an increase of 72% over the April 2010 Index of 127

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its April 2011 Booked Orders Index was 219, up 27 points or 14% from March 2011’s Index of 192, and an increase of 72% over the April 2010 Index of 127.

The April Booked Orders Indexes were 242 for Bulk Handling Equipment and 218 for Unit Handling Equipment. The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 154 in April, an increase of 5% from March 2011’s Twelve-Month Index of 146.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 155 in April, which is a 7% decrease from March 2011’s Index of 167. The April 2011 Index represents an increase of 35% over the April 2010 Index of 115.

April Billed Sales Indexes were 247 for Bulk Handling Equipment and 138 for Unit Handling Equipment. The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 142 in April, an increase of 2% over March 2011’s Twelve-Month Index of 139.
