Dallas, TX (Food Marketing Institute MARKETECHNICS conference) - February 25, 2003 - AquiTec International, a provider of Supply Chain Execution (SCE) solutions, and Silvon Software, a global provider of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software applications, have formed a global alliance to bring performance analysis and supply chain event management to retailers, wholesalers and other users of AquiTec’s SCM/400 and SCM/e applications.

Under the alliance, Silvon’s Enterprise Performance Management analytic and event management applications will be enhanced to provide critical business intelligence to AquiTec’s clients. The applications will allow businesses to measure performance in the areas of retail orders, procurement, warehousing and labor. In addition to key analytics and reports, the joint solution will provide supply chain event management functionality, which will enable companies to respond proactively or rapidly to unplanned events such as depleted inventories or delayed shipments. Guided analysis for identifying root causes of problems that may occur across the supply chain and closed-loop processing for driving analysis scenarios back into a customer’s operations system also will be included in the solution.

“The integration of Silvon’s best-of-breed performance management solutions will provide AquiTec customers with an action-oriented, analytic solution unmatched in the industry in functionality, performance and price,” said Ted Kyriazis, Chief Operating Officer, AquiTec International.

“The extensive functionality offered by our joint solution will enable integrated planning, execution, business analysis, and event management to yield proactive, intelligent, and ultimately profitable decisions across the supply chain. It’s a pleasure for AquiTec to introduce Silvon as a strategic technology partner based on its strong track record and expertise in the provision of business performance management solutions for supply chain businesses.”

Terms of the alliance include the sharing of resources for product development, sales channel collaboration, marketing support and customer service between both companies’ offices in Chicago and the United Kingdom.

“AquiTec has a world-renown reputation in supply chain execution systems, and we are very pleased to team up with them in this global alliance,” said Michael J. Hennel, president and CEO of Silvon.

“Together, Silvon and AquiTec will better equip product distributors and retailers with the applications and services they require not only to run their operations more effectively, but to analyze, identify and respond quickly to events, trends and opportunities that may otherwise be overlooked. This will help AquiTec customers reduce procurement and other operational costs, enhance the efficiency of their supply chains, and improve service levels.”
