Dr. Russell D. Meller is a recognized expert in helping companies achieve distribution excellence through the use of warehouse design methodologies.
He has been honored by the Institute of Industrial Engineers and MHI for multiple awards relating to his contributions to the fields of industrial engineering and material handling and is the co-inventor of innovative non-traditional aisle designs for unit load warehouses.

As VP of Research & Development for Fortna, the global distribution services and engineering firm, Meller leads the development of tools and processes that drive efficient service delivery and innovative solutions for Fortna clients.
Prior to joining Fortna, Meller served as a faculty member in the engineering colleges at Auburn University, Virginia Tech and the University of Arkansaswhere he held the Hefley Professorship in Logistics and Entrepreneurship.
He also served as the Director of CELDi, the Center for Excellence in Logistics and Distribution, the largest applied research consortium focused on logistics and distribution in the U.S.
Meller holds a Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
