Side-by-Side Package Detection Cuts Mis-Shipments

Side-by-Side Package Detection Cuts Mis-Shipments

Accu-Sort’s side-by-side package detection system is projected to save a distribution center $111,000 a year by minimizing mis-shipments and manual handling of packages. This is a new software option for the AccuVision AV6010 camera bar-code scanner. It allows the system to automatically detect side-by-side packages that could otherwise be mistaken for a single package in an automated warehouse system. The system will benefit operations that have problems with non-singulated cuboidal packages.

By minimizing mis-shipments and manual handling of mis-sorts, one distribution center projected a savings of more than $111,000 annually, according to the manufacturer.
