MCFA Builds First Set of Jungheinrich Lift Trucks
Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. ( MCFA) announces that the first Jungheinrich brand lift trucks have rolled off MCFA production lines and are ready for distribution.
In August 2009, MCFA and Jungheinrich AG entered into a manufacturing and distribution agreement in which MCFA would produce Jungheinrich-branded trucks. Per the terms of the agreement, which went into effect in January 2010, Jungheinrich will design products through its newly established Design Center Houston located at MCFA’s headquarters, and lift trucks will be distributed exclusively through MCFA’s dealer network in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The 3,000- to 5,500-pound, stand-up end control lift truck and 2,500- to 4,500-pound reach truck are among the first Houston-built Jungheinrich brand products to debut, with others expected in 2011.
“It’s exciting to see the results of the agreement materializing,” said Jeff Rufener, vice president of marketing at MCFA. “Having the first new products roll off the line makes us very optimistic about the future.”
