HK Systems Selected By Denver Newspaper Agency

HK Systems, Inc. (Milwaukee), manufacturer of automated material handling equipment and supply chain software, announced that it has been selected by Denver Newspaper Agency for its facility expansion. The project includes an integrated turnkey two-aisle automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) and material tracking and control (MTC) system.

The end-to-end solution will provide complete inventory accountability and control of free-standing inserts (FSI) and packages to Denver Newspaper Agency. The solution manages all FSI pallet movement from receiving through delivery, to inserters and palletized packages, to distribution delivery trucks.

A critical component of the totally integrated solution is the MTC System, HK’s unique purpose-built software application specific to the newspaper industry. MTC will be fully integrated with BURT Production Planning Systems to provide real-time tracking of material flow from receiving through distribution.

Scott Hinke, HK Systems, vice president, Paper and Publishing Vertical Markets, said, “We are excited with the opportunity to deploy our FSI solution that incorporates HK Systems integration capabilities, equipment, and MTC.”
