MHIA Committee Developing 2010 Pallet Standard
The MH1 committee of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) is currently developing a revision of MH1-2005: Pallets, Slip Sheets and Other Bases for Unit Loads, an American National Standards Institute standard for pallets used in the unit-load method of assembling, stacking, storing, handling and transporting materials and products.
The standard defines terminology and nomenclature associated with pallets, provides recommended pallet dimensions and sizes and describes procedures for pallet sampling, inspection and testing.
MHIA is seeking reviewers of the draft standard. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Mike Ogle at 800-345-1815 or 704-676-1190. Reviewers receive a complimentary copy of the standard upon completion.
The current standard is available free of charge at the MHIA Bookstore.
