Grainger Names Top Suppliers
Grainger recognized 25 of its 3,000 suppliers with performance awards at its annual supplier conference held in Schaumburg, Ill.
Superior Manufacturing Group, maker of NoTrax anti-fatigue floor matting, is Supplier of the Year. Grainger also presented its first Sustainability Supplier of the Year award to Veolia ES Technical Solutions. Veolia works with Grainger on a pre-paid recycling service that customers can use to recycle lighting and electronic waste.
The industrial distributor provides Partners in Performance awards to suppliers based on on-time shipping, responsiveness, cost effectiveness and product quality. Suppliers are rated throughout the year and judged on overall performance and improvement, according to Grainger.
Partners in Performance award winners for 2009 include: Air Conditioning Products, Akro-Mils, CRC Industries, Cotterman, E.M. Wiegmann & Co., Georgia-Pacific, General Electric Lighting, Greenheck, Johnson Level and Tool, Klein Tools Inc., M.K. Morse Co., Master Lock, Mechanical Plastics, Phillips Lighting Electronics, Pitt Plastics, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Rust-Oleum Corp., Shop Vac Corp., Wireway/Husky Corp. and Wooster Brush.
In addition, Guardian Equipment is Best New Supplier, and GoJo Industries earned a Special Achievement/Contribution award. USA Truck Inc. is Carrier of the Year.
