Beumer Acquires Crisplant, Former European and Asian Operations of FKI Logistex

The Beumer Group has acquired Crisplant AS from Melrose PLC, the U.K.-based manufacturing investment group that had owned FKI Logistex.

The announcement comes less than three months after FKI Logistex reorganized its business units in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia and began operating them under the Crisplant brand. At the same time, Intelligrated acquired FKI Logistex operations in North and South America from Melrose PLC.

Crisplant supplies sortation systems for baggage handling and package delivery applications. Beumer will run Crisplant as an independent brand. Beumer is a supplier of conveying and loading technology, palletizing and packaging technology and sortation and distribution technology.

At the end of the 1990s, FKI acquired several intralogistics companies as Crisplant and concentrated the activities under the FKI Logistex brand. In 2008, Melrose PLC, a U.K.-based financial investor, acquired FKI and declared FKI Logistex for sale.
