Australian Firm Acquires Viewlocity
Supply Chain Consulting (Sydney), a provider of SAP services and solutions, acquired Atlanta-based Viewlocity, a supply chain visibility software company, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is reportedly part of a strategy to extend Supply Chain Consulting’s industry-specific SAP solutions globally.
"The acquisition of Viewlocity presented an opportunity to acquire a software business that was complementary in nature, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, automotive, retail and logistics. It also offered Supply Chain Consulting an established presence in three major new markets the Americas, Europe and North Asia,” said Tony Carr, chief executive of Supply Chain Consulting.
Fadi Geha, formerly vice president of Asia Pacific Operations for Viewlocity, will become business unit director of the global Viewlocity business. Geha, who was actively involved in the acquisition said, "This acquisition gives Supply Chain Consulting access to intellectual property that can be leveraged across its existing client base. Forward thinking companies are increasingly outsourcing business components, with a critical need for tools that monitor all levels of supply chain at all times."
Supply Chain Consulting has reportedly performed over 300 SAP installations across the Asia Pacific region since first entering the market in 1998 and recently became the first SAP Gold-level partner in Australia.
