Exostar Joins “Cloud” Demonstration
Exostar will join the likes of Google, Microsoft and Salesforce.com in a demonstration of single sign-on cloud-based applications. The collaboration solutions provider to the aerospace and defense industry will take part in scenarios involving software-as-a-service (SaaS).
“For companies to truly embrace the off-premise application architecture, they must have complete confidence that only valid individuals with appropriate permissions can access the application, its functions, and its data at any point in time,” said Vijay Takanti, Exostar’s vice president of Security and Collaboration Solutions. “Strong identity and access management are key components of a comprehensive foundation that also must include on-boarding and provisioning of users. On the flip side, access shouldn’t be so cumbersome as to require users to maintain unique user IDs and passwords or hardware- or software-based credentials for each application in the cloud. Single sign-on is critical to enhance the user experience.”
Takanti added, “We’re pleased to take part in the demonstration because it underscores our vision that with standards-based identity and access management capabilities that are proven and interoperable, companies will increasingly look to cloud computing solutions.”
Cloud computing is described as a type of computing where resources are provided as a service over the Internet. Users don't need specific knowledge, expertise or control over the technology in the "cloud" that supports them.
