Zebra Buys WhereNet, Enters Active RFID

WhereNet offers integrated wireless Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS) to industrial manufacturing, transportation and logistics and aerospace and defense vertical markets. Its RTLS locates and tracks high-value assets through employing wireless tags, fixed-position antennas and web-enabled software. Among its other applications are those for vehicle inventory tracking, truck yard management and marine cargo tracking.

Zebra Technologies offers on-demand printing solutions for business improvement and security applications. Among its offerings are Zebra-brand thermal bar code, “smart” label, receipt and card printers. Included in its applications are RFID printer/encoders and wireless mobile solutions.
