RoadLink Announces Acquisitions

Intermodal services provider RoadLink has acquired American Freight Systems and C-Truck.

In separate announcements, RoadLink said it had purchased the Vancouver, WA-based international intermodal trucking service provider American Freight Systems Inc. (AFS). Founded in 1998 by John Rogers, AFS provides regional drayage for export and import containers moving through the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, WA and Portland, OR.

RoadLink has also acquired CP Ships Trucking Ltd. (C-Truck) from Hapag-Lloyd (Canada) Inc. Based in Montreal, C-Truck became part of Hapag-Lloyd as result of its acquisition of CP Ships. Hapag-Lloyd has decided to focus on its core business and, therefore, is divesting of of C-Truck and its six locations in Canada and the US.

The third acquisition in 2008 was West Coast Trucking (WCT), based in Seattle, WA.

RoadLink also announced a strategic relationship with Consolidated Fastfrate, one of Canada's largest privately owned providers of transportation and logistics services. Fastfrate employs more than 2,000 people and transports over 2 billion pounds of freight annually.
