DPWN Revenues Up
Revenue in the Express division of DPWN increased 3.1% in 2007
and, excluding negative currency effects, the division achieved
organic growth of 6.4%. Shipping volumes in international and
national businesses grew 4.2% in 2007. Europe revenue was up
3.8% while the Americas region revenues fell by 4.9% due to
negative currency effects.
Measured in local currencies, organic revenue grew 2.9%. In
the US, says DPWN, revenue was little changed as performance
improvements in the ground and international products were offset
by the decline in domestic air business. This was especially
true in the second half of the year.
Revenue in the Asia Pacific region was up 5.4%.
The logistics group reported revenue increased 5.5% to €25.7
billion ($40 billion), organic growth of 9.1%.
DHL Exel Supply Chain revenue was up 9.2%, boosted by a contract
with the UK National Health Service and higher operational revenue
in all regions. “The unit generated new business of
around €1 billion ($1.559 billion) in annualized revenue last
year,” said DPWN.
In early March, the corporate logistics division was separated into
two operating divisions. One unit is comprised of the
business units Supply Chain and Corporate Information
Solutions. The other division is made up of the Freight and
global Forwarding business units.
