New Freighter Ready for Volga-Dnepr
The 50 tonne-capacity (110,000 lb.) freighter follows a firm order with MAK Ilyushin for the production and delivery of three more IL-76TD-90VD freighters. Those aircraft are scheduled to join the fleet in 2008 and 2009.
Volga-Dnepr took delivery of the first new aircraft in June 2006. The freighter has been approved for worldwide operations without restrictions. Volga-Dnepr Group plans to continue the IL-76 modernization program already underway and forecasts a demand for 15-20 freighters by 2015.
