Trailer Bridge Expands in Caribbean

The Trailer Bridge Triplestack Box Carrier introduces the 53-foot transportation service to the Dominican Republic, says Trailer Bridge. The new service also incorporates expansion of existing Puerto Rico service, increasing frequency to three sailings per week. The service links Jacksonville, FL with Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The company claims it is the only US-flag service operating between the US and Dominican Republic and the first to offer 53-foot by 102-inch containers. The company has ordered 1,000 new 53-foot containers and 850 new 53-foot chassis in preparation for the expansion.
