Some Growth for Air Freight
Brussels Airport will host a new all-cargo airline, Cargo B. The airline will offer daytime flights from Brussels to destinations around the world. The airline is expected to begin service in October 2007, following government approvals. It will begin operations with two 747 freighters.
BAX Global Inc. has opened a new logistics facility in Chicago. The 14-acre Chicago World Freight Campus will expand import/export operations; quadrupling import storage and adding to temperature-sensitive storage capacity.
And, in Dallas, Tex., Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) announced it had set a new cargo record in 2006, exceeding 281,000 metric tons for the year, a 12.9% increase.
