Airbus Would Outsource To Get A350 Moving
Airbus parent EADS must approve a move to outsource as much as 50% of airframe production for the A350 in Airbus’ attempt to keep costs down. The move, in the words of Airbus CEO Louis Gallois, would “allow us to hand over a portion of labor and costs to partners participating in the development,” reported Air Transport World. The target is $2.37 billion in savings.
Delays in Airbus production led some carriers to cancel commitments for aircraft orders and move some orders to Boeing.
