FedEx Express modernizes aircraft fleet
FedEx Express expects to bring the new aircraft into service between 2008 and 2016, subject to identification of suitable 757 aircraft and the successful negotiation of purchase agreements. The 757 reportedly has a 20% greater payload capacity than the 727, and an approximately 25% lower operating cost per pound.
Replacing the older 727 aircraft with the more fuel efficient and quieter 757 aircraft will reportedly reduce operating costs and provide better aircraft utilization.
