J. Polep Distribution Selects Retalix Software

Convenience store distributor J. Polep Distribution Services upgraded its enterprise system and installed a new warehouse management system (WMS) at its Chicopee, MA headquarters as part of its expansion and technology investment initiative.

Over the last few years J. Polep Distribution has made  strategic acquisitions, expanded product lines, and added new programs and value-added services to meet the needs of convenience retailers, according to the company.  "Service, dedication, commitment and customer satisfaction have been the driving force of our business for more than 100 years," said Lori Polep, president of J. Polep Distribution Services.

“To continue to deliver on that promise,” she said, the company needed a complete supply chain solution.

The project includes not only the new upgraded functionality of Retalix Power Enterprise to integrate and synchronize business and operational applications; but also a new install of the Retalix Power Warehouse to manage all aspects of route-based, multi-stop distribution operations; Retalix Power Analyzer, a business intelligence tool that provides insight into daily sales, procurement and financial data; and Retalix Power Sell for sales force automation.

The upgrade and new installations will allow J. Polep to synchronize its supply chain business processes , remove costs and support new growth opportunities, said Reuben Halevi, chief operating officer of Retalix USA.

The Polep family has been in the distribution business for more than 100 years. The original company, Polep Tobacco Company, was founded by Charles Polep in 1898 in Salem, MA. Today, the company ranks as one of the top 15 convenience store distributors in the US, serving more than 4,000 chain and independent retailers in the six New England states and New York. Cash and carry distribution centers are located in Chicopee and Woburn, MA., as well as West Warwick, RI, and Milford, CT.
