FedEx Express Boosts Next-Business-Day Services

The carrier has upgraded delivery from Europe to key markets on the US East Coast and launched domestic Mexican next-business-day express shipping services.

Shippers who previously had two-business-day service from Europe to major East Coast cities can now reach more than 3,500 zip codes overnight. Those already using next-business-day service to the region can now have later pick-up times as much as six hours later.

Robert W. Elliott, president, FedEx Express, Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa claims, “The EU and the US have the largest bilateral trade relationship in the world. FedEx Express already provides faster access to more markets with next-business-day delivery to the U.S. by 10:30 a.m. With this service enhancement, we will deliver a superior experience and added value to European customers with a standard cut-off of up to six hours later, and delivery into key East Coast markets the next business day.”

The new service will deliver to such cities as Washington, DC, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore by 3 p.m. Eastern time, at no extra cost. This standard is part of the carrier’s International Priority service that will now be available for heavyweight or bulky shipments from European gateway cities through the FedEx International Priority Freight offering.

In Mexico, the company will begin service in early October with FedEx Express Nacional. Hubs for the new express service will be located at Toluca and San Luis Potosi.

The service will feature delivery to any address in Mexico, online tracking and tracing, and FedEx's money-back guarantee. FedEx Express Nacional 10:30 AM offers FedEx Priority Overnight- next-business-day delivery for documents and parcels weighing up to 68 kg. FedEx Express Nacional Día Siguiente is FedEx Standard Overnight-next-business-day delivery by the end of the business day, also for packages weighing up to 68 kg.
