Fed Ex Offers US Customs 10+2 Compliance
FedEx Trade Networks, Inc. is the latest organization offering compliance assistance for the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import notification requirements.
A subsidiary of FedEx Corp., FedEx Trade Networks, announced a comprehensive service designed to assist customers in meeting the Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements, commonly referred to as ISF or 10+2. Under the new ISF regulations, importers are responsible for electronically transmitting ten additional data elements to CBP at least 24 hours before ocean cargo is loaded onto a vessel bound for the US.
“CBP’s ISF regulations affect many of our customers, so it was a top priority to create a flexible service offering that would not only meet our customers’ needs, but also maintain compliance and still facilitate the flow of trade,” said Leman “Chip” Bown, Jr., managing director of Regulatory Compliance for FedEx Trade Networks.
The FedEx Trade Networks self-filing option utilizes the company’s Web-based My Global Trade Data system for immediate, 24/7 secure access to produce customs-formatted ISF messages. Additionally, customers can access real-time shipment data and track ISF and entry summary information from a single source, says Bown.
As preparatory support, FedEx Trade Networks continues to offer educational seminars to assist customers in meeting the ISF requirements. Additional information, including how to register for a free ISF Web seminar, is located on the company’s ISF Web page located at: http://ftn.fedex.com/10plus2.
