Cargo 2000 Certifies Data Platform
Traxon Europe’s Cargo 2000 Data Management Platform (CDMP) has been certified by Cargo 2000 for its ability to measure and manage the quality of air cargo processes between freight forwarders and airlines.
Traxon Europe has been actively involved in Cargo 2000’s quality program since its launch, providing the CDMP used by many of the group’s members. Traxon Cargo Management and Traxon CDMP solutions currently operate for Air France, Lufthansa Cargo, Korean Airlines and Nippon Cargo Airlines as well as Schenker, SDV Group, Yusen Air & Sea and Agility.
“When Traxon was founded in 1991, we started with Status Request and receiving Status Answers from airlines, said Felix Keck, managing director of Traxon Europe. “This led to airlines being able to send information proactively through Freight Status Updates. Today, however, what everybody wants – particularly shippers – is management by exception. They want to be informed when something goes wrong. The Cargo 2000 Route Map has reduced and clearly identified the milestones that enable us to do this.”
Keck pointed out that the Cargo 2000 methodology now allows Traxon to measure forwarders, airlines and ground handling agents on how well they processed each shipment and the accompanying documentation. They can also measure how well and how quickly the information was transmitted to the customer or carrier.
As a result of additional security requirements that are coming into force and advanced electronic reporting, Keck says, the industry is putting in place the building blocks to offer exception management at piece level.
