Brazilian Group Honors Ryder's Green Moves
The Brazilian Association of Sales and Marketing Directors presented Ryder System Inc. with its “Top Abiental” award for environmental sustainability.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Antonio Wrobleski Filho, managing director for Ryder in Brazil. “Ryder has been adopting environmentally sustainable technologies and processes as enablers to providing efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions for our customers,” he added.
Ryder's environmental sustainability policy states the company will focus on relevant laws and regulations in the countries where it operates, the needs of its customers, and the communities in which it operates.
Among its initiatives are participation in the EPA SmartWay program promoting energy efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel, continuing energy conservation efforts, and its first Energy Star building in Novi, MI.
