Vancouver USA Welcomes Newly Launched Ship

The Port of Vancouver welcomed the 50,000 tonne Sanko Mermaid on August 19th during its maiden voyage. Built in Japan, the ship was launched June 8, 2009. It is owned by Sanko Steamship Company and operated by Sanko Vancouver BC. Cascade Marine Agencies is the agent for the company.

From Vancouver, the 623-foot vessel was slated to call at Portland, then Singapore, and on to Saudi Arabia, its final destination to discharge cargo.
