YRC Adds Mexican and Chinese Services
YRC Logistics, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, is expanding international air and ocean freight forwarding services into Mexico. The carrier already has transportation, distribution and cross border services in Mexico. The offerings will be handled through the YRC Logistics Mexico City office.
Jim Ritchie, President and CEO of YRC Logistics, says, “We are looking forward to the expansion of our services in Mexico. Upgrading our freight forwarding services is the most effective way for our clients to benefit from YRC Logistics.”
YRC Logistics Global, an NVOCC-licensed affiliate, is cooperating with Yellow Transportation in the new expedited ocean service. This is a guaranteed product for on-time delivery of less-than-container-load shipments moving east from China to the US. The service offers customers the ability to track a shipment from the foreign port to its final US destination.
“Expedited ocean is the inventive solution for customers who need delivery faster than standard ocean service, but don’t require the speed of air transit. By building on our proven expertise in expedited deliveries, Yellow Transportation helps customers realize faster inventory turns and a reduced cash-to-cash cycle. In today’s global marketplace, that’s a tremendous competitive advantage,” claims Maynard Skarka, Yellow Transportation president.
