McAlexander to Head Supply Chain at Charming Shoppes
Charming Shoppes, Inc., (Bensalem, Pa.), an apparel retailer specializing in women's plus-size apparel, has hired Steve McAlexander as senior v.p., supply chain management. In his new role McAlexander will lead all supply chain management functions, including distribution, transportation, and international trade and compliance.
Since 1999 McAlexander has served as v.p., worldwide logistics for Borders Group, Inc., a retailer of books and music. In this capacity, he was responsible for the creation and management of an integrated logistics organization, including the 15 distribution centers and logistical support to 2,100 retail locations throughout the world. Prior to Borders, McAlexander worked for American Honda Motor Company.
