Hub Group acquires Comtrak
Hub Group Inc., a non-asset based freight transportation management company, plans to acquire the assets of
Comtrak-Inc., a provider of international and domestic intermodal drayage as well as truckload transportation services. Hub Group will pay $38 million in cash for the company, and up to $10 million more over the next two years.
Comtrak has 381 employees and 15 terminals primarily in the southeastern U.S., and utilizes both company drivers and third-party owner-operators. The acquisition will allow Hub to increase the amount of local trucking it performs.
