MOL Modifies Asia-US Service
The New World Alliance (TNWA) carriers announced a revised Asia-US East Coast service, which will include the Grand Alliance (GA) lines. Beginning December 3, 2008, Grand Alliance carriers joined TNWA's New York Express (NYX) service.
TNWA members Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), APL and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Grand Alliance members Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) joined the NYX service, which expanded from an eight-ship loop to a nine-ship loop, with TNWA providing five ships and the Grand Alliance supplying four.
The revised NYX service will make an additional westbound call at Los Angeles and an eastbound stop at Shekou.
