Microsoft Selects Intermec to Support Microsoft Technology Centers
Intermec Inc. (Everett, Wash.), a developer of RFID, will supply RFID hardware to Microsoft Technology Centers in Austin, Reston, Chicago, Boston, Silicon Valley and New York. Microsoft Technology Centers allow independent software vendor and their customers to evaluate technology solutions before buying and deploying them in their own facilities. Microsoft reportedly selected Intermec for its RFID technology and its hardware interoperability with the Microsoft BizTalk RFID platform.
“Intermec has a deep and broad understanding of RFID and its value to the retail, industrial, transportation and logistics customer, so they were a natural choice to bring the technology to Center visitors,” said John Mathieu, Microsoft Technology Center alliance senior program manager. “Intermec worked with us to test and refine Microsoft BizTalk RFID and was an early adopter of the platform. Our combined technologies offer Center visitors hard evidence of the power and flexibility a well-executed RFID solution can deliver.”
