RFID offers full product lifecycle traceability
CompControl (
www.compcontrol.de), a German supplier of process automation solutions for electronic product manufacturing, is mounting glass tag RFID transponders on its printed circuit boards at the beginning of production.
The transponders, provided by Sokymat (www.sokymat.com), are installed with standard mount device equipment and offer Comp-Control users complete product visibility down to the individual part level. Since each finished product has a unique RFID identity, its data may be used for stock control, production planning and control systems, manufacturing and production control and optimization.
Such identification can help industrial manufacturers like CompControl meet tougher international regulations for traceability, recycling and maintenance of high-value electronic products.
