Navarre Adds 3PL Services Using WMS Technology
Navarre Corp., a distributor and publisher of computer software and home entertainment products, has begun offering third-party logistics (3PL) services to its customers thanks in part to its adoption of warehouse management system (WMS) technology.
Navarre processes 2.2 million orders a year and manages 15,000 SKUs on a campus of three facilities with a combined 320,000 square feet in Minneapolis, Minn. and a 30,000 square foot facility in Toronto. After implementing the HighJump Warehouse Advantage WMS from HighJump Software, Navarre has seen improvements in efficiency, worker productivity and inventory accuracy.
Navarre made a strategic decision to leverage its distribution capabilities to expand the range of services that the company offers. Navarre was able to implement its new business model with the help of HighJump Billing Management. The 3PL billing software allowed Navarre to accurately bill multiple customers for handling and storage of products with identical SKUs. The WMS and 3PL billing systems interface directly to Navarre's SAP financial system. Navarre can make changes to the way it bills its customers on its own using HighJump adaptability tools.
The supply chain solutions have enabled Navarre to not only achieve notable productivity and efficiency gains, but also the ability to use the solutions to add new services for its customers, explains John Turner, Navarre's senior vice president of global logistics.
