Trucking Costs Dip Slightly in Canada

The cost of ground transportation for Canadian shippers slightly decreased in March, which offset the increase seen in February.

The Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) indicates that the cost of ground transportation for Canadian shippers slightly decreased in March, which offset the increase seen in February.

Overall freight costs decreased by 2.6% in March when compared to February. Base rates, which exclude the impact of fuel surcharges assessed by carriers, decreased by 1.9%, with average fuel surcharges also decreasing by 4.5% from the prior month.
