NGC announced software updates for import and consumer product safety compliance.

NGC (New Generation Computing) announced new releases of e-PLM and e-SPS software which include a compliance module for the current Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) as well as support for 10+2 Importer Security Filing (ISF) requirements.

CPSIA Compliance software is available as an optional module for e-PLM and e-SPS or as a standalone product, says NGC. It allows retailers and manufacturers to manage the process of requesting, tracking, approving and sending the General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) and Certificate of Compliance (COC) documents that are mandated by the CPSIA. It also allows companies to manage the dozens of third-party lab tests that are required for apparel design and production.

Support for 10+2 requirements, formally known as the Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements, is incorporated throughout e-PLM and e-SPS 2009, said NGC. Companies can collect, maintain and manage information needed for 10+2 ISF filings; electronically share the 10+2 information with the agent that is filing the ISF; issue alerts throughout the supply chain regarding 10+2 records; and notify import managers with the 10+2 details of each shipment
