It will be implemented at all DP World’s network of terminals worldwide. Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), an independent international certification body, did the necessary auditing.

As DP World explains, ISO/PAS 28000:2005, Security Management Systems for the Supply Chain was been developed and introduced in response to demands from the transportation industry for a common security management standard, with the ultimate objective of improving the overall security of international supply chains.

The standard was selected by DP World for its compatibility and complementary application to other Governmental and International Custom Agency security initiatives including: the World Customs Organization Supply Chain Security and facilitation of global trade initiative, the EU Customs Security Program-Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), and the US Customs and Border Protection initiative, Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
