Under terms of the lease, CBP will gain an additional 5,000 square feet of office space at the Miami Free Zoned

Under terms of the lease, CBP will gain an additional 5,000 square feet of office space at the Miami Free Zoned. The facility is the only Foreign Trade Zone in Miami-Dade County. It presently houses a number of tenants engaged in international trade.

CBP intends to move some administrative functions – including vehicle export and documentation validation – from their present location at the Port of Miami. Barbie Pimental, Florida Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association executive vice president, says, “This is a very positive move for our industry. Brokers and forwarders will enjoy faster turn around time for validated documents since the Miami Free Zone is centrally located and more accessible than the Port of Miami." The Free Zone is located within the West Dade corridor and has direct access to Miami International Airport.

Within the Free Zone are 50,000 square feet of full service public warehousing and 750,000 square feet of foreign trade zone facilities.
