Virginia Tech's Center for Unit Load Design is offering it popular short course beginning September 18-20. It will be held at the Skelton Conference Center, Blacksburg, Virginia.

This continuing educational program, led by instructors from the W.H. Sardo, Jr. Pallet and Container research Lab offers managers of all levels the opportunity to learn, and apply that knowledge, in a hands-on environment. Ralph Rupert, center director, says the course appeals to packaging, pallet and material handling equipment suppliers. “It's not just for users of transport packaging supplies and equipment,” he says. “It's a chance to learn how to reduce unitization costs and product damage.”

This is an approach to unit load design that uses systems-based optimization procedures to improve customer service and increase a company's competitiveness, he adds.
