Diamond Phoenix to Introduce Next Generation of Technologies at NA 2006 Diamond Phoenix recently announced the development of the next generation of several of its technologies, including the Diamond Horizontal Carousel, the SMARTdepot Vertical Lift Module, and the DiamondWare Warehouse Execution System WES 3.0. These upgrades and improvements will be the focus of the company’s exhibit at the upcoming NA 2006 show in Cleveland, Ohio. The Diamond Horizontal Carousel features a new non-proprietary control system, which provides smarter and less expensive controls due to technological advancements. The closed-loop type of control provides a smoother rotation, as it is not as sensitive to unevenly distributed weight on the carousel. In addition, installed operator interfaces are now optional; standard controls are on a tether, allowing the operator to plug into the carousel as required. Upgrades to the SMARTdepot Vertical Lift Module include a new controls platform, height
detection system, and sensors which provide improved unit cycle times and ease of use. The mechanical components of the machine from the unit’s modular structure to the Cross-bay technology have also been improved for ease of maintenance and shorter installation times. Finally, Diamond Phoenix will showcase its latest software development, the DiamondWare Warehouse Execution System WES 3.0. WES synchronizes order fulfillment, material handling systems, and shipping systems, bringing many traditional execution level functions into one application. This simplifies overall software integration and reduces IT costs by requiring only one interface to interact with the entire system. In addition, because orders continuously flow through the system, overall equipment costs are significantly reduced and the traditional “waves” seen in most systems are eliminated. Demonstrations of the POWERdepot Vertical Carousel and DirectPick Light-Directed Picking applications will also run continuously throughout the show. This next generation of material handling technologies is part of an ongoing effort by Diamond Phoenix to provide its customers with flexible, reliable solutions that improve efficiency and productivity. NA 2006 will be held March 27 – 30, 2006 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, OH. The Diamond Phoenix exhibit will be located in booth #2234.
