The SX3000C's high-resolution engine enables the capture of color images and both color and conventional bar codes. Its high-quality, high-resolution 1.3 megapixel image resolution is ideal for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that require color capabilities within their information capture products, including scanners and kiosks.

The imager handles a variety of applications, including public safety and security, claims management, inventory/asset management and counterfeit/fraud prevention.

For example, insurance examiners inspecting damaged vehicles would be able to photograph them using the color engine in this scanning device. Delivery services could both scan a package when delivered and also create a color photograph of the goods if refused because of damage. Additionally, kiosks could incorporate the imager to capture and validate identification and to record color photographic records of transactions.

In other news from Symagery, it has partnered with Psion Teklogix Inc., a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection and RFID, to integrate the SX5393 megapixel image engine and decode system into the Psion Teklogix Workabout Pro hand-held computer.

The image reader system enables the computer to offer powerful image capture and bar code reading capabilities to meet the needs of the mobile computing, supply chain and logistics and retail markets. The image reader system offers multimedia data capture capabilities with the ability to read 1D and 2D bar codes, as well as take images. This can be useful for several applications such as documentation of damaged goods at receiving, proof of delivery and signature capture capabilities.
