Southworth Dock Lifts

Jan. 14, 2010
The Dura-Dock series of loading-dock lifts from Southworth Products features standard, corrosion-resistant, galvanized bases and legs and capacities of 5,000 and 6,000 pounds. Optional galvanized construction is available for capacities up to 20,000 pounds.

The company says all of its dock lifts work from grade level to a maximum height of 59 inches and meet or exceed ANSI standard MH29.1, “Safety Requirements for Industrial Scissors Lifts.” They can accommodate any dock or loading configuration, whether the truck is parked perpendicular or parallel to the dock, according to Southworth.

Platform sizes range from 6 x 8 feet to 8 x 12 feet. Low-capacity models support loaded hand pallet trucks, while high-capacity models support loaded lift trucks.

Other features include weatherproof, pushbutton NEMA-4X controls with 20 feet of coiled cord; diamond-tread, steel platforms with beveled toe-guards; removable steel handrails with mid-rails and four-inch-high kickplates; hinged, diamond-tread throw-over plates and snap chains; pressure-compensated flow-control valves; and excess flow protection for controlled descent in the unlikely event of hydraulic line rupture.
