SICK’s W9-3 photoelectric sensor features proprietary technology that enables it to ignore stray background reflections and detect multicolored and shiny objects. It is made of VISTAL, a material said to be nine times stronger than standard ABS. The W9-3’s connector is over-molded onto the device creating a sensor that is nearly unbreakable.
This sensor has many different mounting options due to its slotted through hole design. It is electronically taught (no mechanical moving parts) via push-button, which is as precise as a potentiometer adjustment.
