Newton, Massachusetts - Retail Systems 2004/VICS Collaborative Commerce - America's Leading Retail IT and Supply Chain Event - released today the new condensed schedule for the upcoming 2004 conference and Expo to be held May 17-19, 2004 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

"Our customers told us that it was becoming more and more difficult for them to be away from the office for three days," said Thomas Friedman, president of Retail Systems Alert Group Inc., "so we condensed the same amount of content we traditionally ran over three days into two days. Now our exhibitors and attendees can get the same amount of value from this event with less time out of the office. This saves them time and money."

Along with the traditional end-user case study sessions, specialized seminars, show floor pavilions and theatres, and TechTours® program, Retail Systems 2004/VICS will feature some exciting new opportunities for attendees to learn and share ideas with their peers. Some of these new programs include Best Practice Roundtable Discussions, Collaboration Zones, and Innovation Alley.

The Best Practice Roundtable Discussions will offer attendees independent industry forums to discuss business, management and technical challenges impacting their profession and their companies. The Roundtables seek to create a strong voluntary network of IT and business executives who can benefit from each others' experiences. On both days of the conference, Roundtables will be held focusing on 5 topics, including:

--RFID for Retailers

--RFID for Suppliers

--IT/Finance and Management

--Stores of the Future

--Data Synchronization

Collaboration Zones on the Expo floor will offer a uniquely structured environment where retailers and suppliers can meet to discuss and promote new supply chain initiativesranging from RFID programs to data synchronization to vendor compliance programs.

Innovation Alley will showcase the hottest new technologies from companies you may not have even heard of yet.

Other Retail Systems 2004/VICS show highlights include:

--Two Opening Keynote Presentations - featuring speakers from both the retailer and supplier perspectives

--A technology exhibit with more than 250 solution providers showcasing the latest technology applications

--Pre-show seminars on specific topics relevant to the retail and supply chain industries
