Premier Tech Adds Valve Bag Filling

RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, QUE.—To strengthen its position in North America in the field of industrial flexible packaging Premier Tech has made a major acquisition.

Premier Tech Systems (PTS) division of Premier Tech has purchased the equipment division of Graphic Packaging International, Inc. The division is located in Salt Lake City, U.S.A., manufactures and markets packaging equipment, and specializes in valve bag filling systems. The acquisition adds a sixth PTS plant in North America allowing the company to heighten customer awareness of its presence in its various markets while diversifying its product line.

Founded in 1901—formerly operating as St-Regis and Stone—the equipment division of Graphic Packaging International is best known as the developer of a series of valve bag filling systems for packaging of granular and powdered products, mainly in food, chemical and mineral industries. These products will now be marketed by PTS under the Stonepak label and will complete the company’s technological platforms.

Premier Tech’s market approach is with seven business units, formed into three groups: Horticulture and Agriculture, Industrial Equipment and Environmental Technologies.
