TERREBONNE, QUEBEC, CANADA, – GMR Safety Inc. announces that its Power Chock™ vehicle restraint system is now available in the United States. The Power Chock is a proven, wheel-based truck restraint system capable of restraining all vehicles at the loading dock, including trailers with lift gates.

“We developed the Power Chock to provide a reliable, efficient, simple-to-use vehicle restraint system that is independent of a truck’s Rear Impact Guard (RIG), and is comparable in price to traditional hydraulic-based hook restraints,” says Gaétan Jetté, GMR President and Co-founder.

The Power Chock is composed of a large steel chock set at the end of a counter-balanced arm. The chock is placed behind the vehicle’s rear wheel on a grade-level ground plate. The Power Chock’s communication system of interior and exterior building lights, sensors and an alarm provides a clear message about loading safety to both dock employees and truck drivers.

Developed over a decade ago, the Power Chock has been adopted by numerous Canadian corporations and distribution centers and is now available for sale through U.S. distributors. Anna Caruso, GMR Marketing and Sales Manager adds, “American companies are well-known for their high safety standards. The Power Chock vehicle restraint system now provides them with a better option to secure their loading docks and to prevent accidents.”

GMR will be exhibiting their Power Chock vehicle restraint system at ProMat 2007, January 8-11 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
