Packaging and Automation Suppliers Join to Create SWS/TEK

May 12, 2009
KENILWORTH, N.J.—Sencorp Inc., a manufacturer of thermoforming and sealing machines, has teamed up with White Systems, a provider of automated carousel-type storage and retrieval technology, to create a new company called SWS/TEK.

In early 2009, White’s Kenilworth, N.J. manufacturing operation was relocated to Sencorp’s 155,000-square foot facility in Hyannis, Mass. “Unquestionably, the move improved efficiency.” says Brian Urban, president and CEO of Sencorp and White.

The medical device, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries use Sencorp/White machines to package, inventory, and manage high-value, sensitive parts. For example, in the production of medical devices like blood bags, tissue samples or implantable devices, White clean-room carousels offer a controlled environment for storing and transferring packaging materials used by Sencorp heat sealers.

Sencorp/White services include predictive and preventative maintenance programs, machine upgrades, regularly scheduled maintenance and operator training sessions, and retrofit kits, in addition to existing OEM parts and help-desk support. Field service technicians are located throughout North America.
