For shippers, the new service offers cross border movements as well as warehousing and distribution throughout Mexico. On the northern side of the border, USF will leverage its Less-than-Truckload and Truckload capabilities as well as its logistics operations.

On the south side of the border, USF has entered into a joint venture with Autolineas Mexicanas S.A. de C.V. (ALMEX). Serving 320 cities across Mexico, ALMEX has a network of 52 terminals and five hubs.

USF Bestway President Gary Beggs is in charge of the new service called USF Mexico. “For the first time,” he says, “customers with North American transportation requirements will be able to rely on a single source solution, not only for cross-border needs, but for intra-Mexico services, including everything from actual delivery to assembly and distribution.” The new offering will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
