HK Systems, Inc. (Milwaukee, Wis.) announced a monetary contribution to the American Red Cross emergency financial assistance fund for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The employees of HK Systems and its subsidiary, Irista, donated more than $14,000 to provide support for the survivors of this recent tragedy. The company matched the employee contribution dollar for dollar, bringing the total contribution to the American Red Cross to $30,000.

John W. Splude, chairman and CEO said, "We're incredibly proud of our employees and grateful for their generosity and willingness to assist the Red Cross achieve their mission of feeding, sheltering, and caring for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina."

In addition to providing monetary support, HK Systems mobilized and dispatched a team of engineers and technicians to hurricane affected communities to provide repair and renovation services for automated material handling systems and related equipment.
