HAMBURG, Germany—Jungheinrich AG plans to build a new plant to manufacture electric walkie trucks in Landsberg, Germany. Production is scheduled to start in mid-2009. Lift truck product development will also take place at the new $44 million plant.

Jungheinrich already has a production plant in Norderstedt, near Hamburg, where it produces electric walkie trucks, electric stacker trucks, reach trucks as well as controls and masts. The company said it will shift electric walkie truck production to Landsberg to free up room in the Norderstedt plant.
