Industry Contributes to Haiti Relief Efforts

Jan. 25, 2010
Columbus McKinnon Corp. is contributing more than $40,000 worth of products to aid the recovery efforts in Haiti, and the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) is serving as a primary point of contact for donations from the U.S. logistics industry.

Columbus McKinnon’s donations, which include chain, load binders and assemblies for moving heavy equipment as well as manual hoists to assist in the removal of debris, is part of an ongoing effort by members of the Industrial Supply Association to provide supplies to the devastated nation. The initial shipment is scheduled to arrive in Haiti by late February.

ALAN is also contributing to relief efforts by listing supplies and resources needed in Haiti on its Web portal. Logistics companies in the U.S. can log on to the Web site to determine if they can help.

The Material Handling Industry of America is a founding sponsor of ALAN.
