FKI Logistex (St. Louis), a global supplier of integrated material handling technology, has consolidated its North American manufacturing and engineering locations within its Airport, Post and Parcel division to take advantage of operational efficiency opportunities. Manufacturing will be transferred from the company's factory in Frederick, Md., to facilities in Danville, Ky., and Cincinnati. Engineering and support functions in Dallas, Texas will be consolidated to Louisville, Ky.

"Striving to be the most efficient and effective organization for the benefit of our customers, shareholders and employees is an ongoing process," said Steve Ackerman, president, FKI Logistex North America. "As we expand to meet global market demand, it is incumbent upon us to make best use of all of our resources."

"In our last business year, which ended March 31, 2006, FKI Logistex sales grew by 14 percent but continued investment in our operational infrastructure, IT systems, people, and business processes now means that we can deliver this increased level of sales within a smaller operational footprint. We are therefore taking this opportunity to streamline our activities across fewer sites."
